Botswana Society for Human Development (NGO)
WHO WE ARE
The Botswana Society for Human Development (BSHD) NGO was founded in October 2013 and licensed by the Botswana government on March 10, 2014. In June 2014, BSHD became a Member of the Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO).
The NGO was co-founded by a group of young women whom in December 2012 were selected by the Mpule Kwelagobe Institute to make up 40 of the young African females to take part in the Network of Women Investing in Africa (NEW Africa) Leadership Program. Since establishment, the NGO has a minor male membership and a number of registered volunteers.
VISION AND MISSION
BSHD’s main objective is to come up with creative ways to tackle issues that thwart human and socio-economic development in Botswana. The major reason we came together was so we afford ourselves the opportune platform and support system that would allow us to be the change we wanted to see.
In a broader sense, the NGO means to address challenges in sectors such as agriculture, health, arts and education, environment among others while also offering charitable humanitarian services to the nation.
